Braces are not an option for most adults who want to straighten their teeth. They are painful, messy, inconvenient, unattractive, and awkward. Many professionals cannot afford to wear braces for aesthetic reasons alone.

Invisalign Process

Invisalign clear braces have become a popular treatment option for adults and professionals who want a removable, clear, corrective appliance. The Invisalign process consists of a series of clear aligners that you will switch out every couple of weeks.  Invisalign appliances can be removed at any time for brushing, flossing, eating, or special occasions.

Dr. Firouzi will take impressions of your crooked teeth during your initial consultation and develop a treatment plan that is right for you. Many Invisalign patients are done with their treatments in under a year.

Ideal Conditions to be Treated by Invisalign

Invisalign is ideal for correcting the following conditions:

  • Overbite – This occurs when the upper teeth extend over the lower teeth. Quite often, a large gap is present between the upper and lower teeth when the jaw is closed. Overbites, like most other tooth alignment problems, are the result of heredity, but can also result from bad dental habits. An overbite that is left untreated can lead to a number of additional dental problems.
  • Underbite – The opposite of an overbite, the underbite is often the result of heredity, but may also result from missing upper teeth. Abnormal tooth wear is a common result of an untreated underbite, as are painful TMD-related symptoms.
  • Crossbite – This is a combination of overbite and underbite. Both front and rear teeth are often affected. Numerous dental and joint problems can result from an untreated crossbite.
  • Crowded teeth – This occurs when your jaw is too small to accommodate all of your teeth. This is more than just an aesthetic issue. Overly crowded teeth will put you at greater risk of decay and gum disease.
  • Gaps between teeth – Also called diastemas, gapped teeth may be the result of over development of the jawbone. When missing teeth go untreated, the remaining teeth will shift to fill in the empty space, creating gaps.
